Texas Managing Editor Awards

Each year, the Texas Managing Editors joins the Headliners Foundation of Texas to recognize outstanding journalism as practiced by the state’s daily newspapers.

Through this partnership, the Texas Managing Editors annual contest is complemented by a group of honors known as the Texas Headliners Excellence in Journalism Awards. Texas Managing Editors also honors newspapers and journalists from around the state with awards in 29 general categories, as well as awards for college and university publications.

Texas Managing Editors foster the highest standards in journalism through professional development and support of student journalists. Consisting of news leaders from throughout the state, TME offers a unique resource for Texas journalism.

Our annual convention offers insight into the latest industry developments and a chance for Texas Managing Editors members to meet their counterparts from across the state.

Student Scholarships

Texas Managing Editors proudly awards the Buster Haas Minority Internship and Scholarship annually, providing valuable newsroom experience to a student journalist as well as a scholarship.

Honoring Results

The annual Texas Managing Editor awards reward the best work in Texas journalism, including writing, design and photography.
